NAS Sketch and Other Things

I'm sure everyone else has been very busy through the holidays! Christmas is definitely my favorite holiday, but the hustle and bustle leading up to it nowadays can really get to me. I try to pare it down, but between school and church activities it is still crazy! Somehow, I still find time to scrap. My biggest inspiration are the daily challenges at Scrap Orchard. If you haven't checked them out--do it now! :)

Here's my layout for the sketch at Nuts About Sketches this week:
All paper and elements from Here Comes Trouble kit by Tracie Stroud and Tracy Reed.

All paper and elements from April Showers mega from SO except paper punches from Karah Fredericks and Bunny Trail alpha by Jady Day Studio. Template by Fiddle Dee Designs.

All paper and elements from Colour Me Girl/Boy bundle by Lyndsay Riches except U from A Life Expressed megastash alphas, "me" from Bunny Trail alphas by Julie Bullock, "happy" from Garden Alpha by Julie Bullock.

Bacground template from Scrappin with Liz. All paper and elements from Just A Kid by Fee Jardin except Color Me Happy alphas by Zoe Pearn.

I've gotten a few more layouts done over the past couple of weeks, but this is all I'm gonna hit you with! :) I hope everyone had a merry Christmas and I wish you a very happy New Year!

NAS and Pxl Cafe Reveals

Wow! We have had a tremendous response to the free kit! I hope everyone enjoys it and can usse it on lots of fun winter pages. My portion of the kit was my first dabble into design. I enjoyed it, but I just do not have the time to attempt anything else at this time. However, that is not to say I won't have a few freebies to offer at times! ;)

Now, to the good stuff! This week's featured kit at Pxl Cafe is Timeless. Here is the page I created with it:
I also created a page for the Nuts About Sketches sketch this week. Here's the sketch:

And here's my layout. I used Prince Charming kit by Designs by Kat at Scrap Orchard except the alpha which I cannot find a TOU for-sorry.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you are inspired by these wonderful kits and Shawn's great sketch!

Several Little Things

I have a few layouts to share with you today. The first is with a fresh kit at Pxl Cafe called Retreat.
This layout is a calendar topper. Every year I do a calendar for myself and my mom as well as my MIL. This year I decided to do an 8.5x11 book with the calendar toppers and add more pages to encompass my favorite photos of the year. Here is a link to the book: Favorite Photos

This next layout is my contribution to Nuts About Sketches this week. All papers and elements are from Spooky Night by Julie Bullock except paper punches from Sprinkles by Karah Fredericks.
Finally, I have been featured as the Inspiration du Jour at craftgossip.com . How cool is that? I am so excited and honored to be featured! I used a free template from Scrap Orchard for this layout. All paper and elements from Alphabet Soup by Zoe Pearn except Scritch Scratch brush by Erica Hernandez.

HMITM Challenge

Whew! I am so behind here! The past three weeks have been extremely busy. Hope things calm down soon. We went to Disney last week and had a really good time. I can't wait to scarp those photos.

Now, down to business. As you know, I was asked to be guest designer at How Much Is Too Much and they asked me to come up with the second challenge. It has been an honor to be part of their blog. My challenge involved scrapping about an important or favorite gift. I made the requirements pretty tricky because that is the kind of challenge I like to see. I hope it doesn't discourage folks from participating.
Anyway, the first layout is from this challenge. The rest are the few I have gotten done in the past 3 weeks. Gotta step up my game again when things settle down!

Whew! Things have certainly been crazy around our house! We had a big combined birthday party for the girls yesterday and we are leaving for Disney Friday! I smell a bunch of layouts! Hehehe!

The first reveal at How Much Is Too Much was today! I am still excited about being guest designer this month! They have the greatest challenges that really make you use your stash creatively. So, here is my contribution to the first challenge:
All papers and elements are from Autumn Harvest by Tracy Howard and Autumn Memories by Melissa Bennett. TFL!

And here is another layout about my little Cub Scout!

Papers and elements from Do My Duty kit by Lauren Reid and Jaque Larsen.

NAS Reveal +Some

I am so behind here! I have been asked to be the guest designer at the How Much Is Too Much challenge blog and also to come up with the second challenge for the month. I am so excited and have spent several days making my layouts and coming up with the challenge. We, of course, had a reveal at NAS Monday. Here is my layout for this week. As usual, Shawn had an amazing sketch for us!

I also managed to get a few pages done for the daily challenges at Scrap Orchard.

It's Nuts About Sketches reveal time again! My layout includes embossed paper from Blue Flower Art, Carefree alpha from Aprilissa Designs and all others from You Lift Me Up kit by Connie Prince.

Sunday, September 18, 2011

Well, we packed 400 shoeboxes for the 2-4 year old age group at church today! I am so happy we are almost halfway to our goal of 1,000! The kids helped with the packing for almost 2 hours! I will be scrapping about that later.

Here is a lo I did combing the How Much Is Too Much and Sassy Lil Sketches challenge! All paper and element from My Life collab at The Daily Digi except tag from Jill DZines (recolored). TFL!

Here's one I did tonight about sweet Anna. I just love this pic I got at the aquarium because her expression is so sweet and her reflection is cool!

I am a little slow on the uptake this week, but we had our second reveal at Nuts About Sketches yesterday. Here is my take on the sketch:

Easter Blessings kit by NBK-NicNic designs. Three Ring Circus alpha by Ziggle Designs.

Head over to http://nutsaboutsketches.blogspot.com/ to check out the contributions of the other girls!

Monday, September 12, 2011

Here's one I did tonight about the girls sharing my love of reading. I thought this was the cutest photo of them sharing a book.

Saturday, September 10, 2011

Here's one I did for a sketch challenge. I just love these school pictures of Will! He's such a little dolll.

Thursday, September 8, 2011

Here's two from yesterday and today for the Scrap Orchard challenges.

Monday, September 5, 2011

Okay, I am so excited! Today was the first reveal of my first design team layout! I have learned a lesson. I am scouring my digistash to remember what kits I used on the layout! I am going to have to create an info file to keep with these layouts so I don't waste time digging for the credits! Anyway, this layout is my cute little Katiebug just being Katie.

Scatter and cardboard hearts from Beautiful You kit by K Mickus. Large photo mask from Scrappin with Liz. Hanging frames from Katie Pertiet. Polka dot paper from Calliope add on kit by Tracie Stroud. All others (including alpha) from Beautiful kit by Vera Lim.

Here is a fun one I did last night about the girls being silly!

Paper and elements from April Showers mega at Scrap Orchard except "A" from Pinkatude alpha by Trixie Scraps designs and Treehouse alphaa with papers from April Showers clipped to it. Tied Fasteners from Katie Pertiet.

Stay tuned as I will continue to have weekly reveals for the Nuts About Sketches site and my other musings! I hope everyone has a relaxing and fun Labor Day!

28 Layouts in August!!!

Here's another one I did tonight. I think that makes 28 for the month of August!!! It's a record for me! All the daily challenges at Scrap Orchard and the sketch blogs I am following are really keeping me inspired. This is a lo about Anna's 1st day of  PreK. It is funny now that she has finished two wonderful years there to look back and see how nervous she was!

Little Sleeping Beauty

Here's a layout of my little Katie when she was just a baby. It is based on Sketchy Thursday sketch. Paper and elements from Fairy Tale Dream by Nit Wit Collections. Some church members lost their little 5 year old  girl today and it made me stop and thank God for my wonderful, healthy children! Take time to do that today and give them a hug whether they are young or old! Thanks for checking this out!

Life Is Sweet

Here is the layout I did for the Nuts About Sketches sketch this week. I condensed a 2 page sketch into a one-pager. I used  a freebie from Faith True Originals (Scrap Orchard) called Life Is Sweet and Awesomeness kit by Lindsay Jane (Gotta Pixel). We love to go to the park and when I looked at these pictures I instantly thought life IS sweet!

Next week will be the first reveal for the new design team at Nuts About Sketches and I am excited! I'll post my lo here as soon as they are up on the NAS blog!

Figuring Things Out?

Well, in the wee hours of the night, I finally (partially) figured out installing the blogware. It is not perfect, but it still looks cute! I have a lo I did in about 20 minutes start to finish from a free template at Scrap Orchard. Their daily challenges have really got me scrappin up a storm! The lo is simple and clean so I just used a few pics of my sweet Anna from a photo shoot last spring.
